First lady Jill Biden arrived in the Bay Area on Friday morning to tour a San Francisco cancer center.
, and doctors and researchers at the center shared their progress in research, treatment, and care of patients, caregivers, and survivors.
As second lady, Jill Biden, a doctor, continued to stress the importance of breast cancer research and early detection. UCSF researchers have made strides in new technology and immune therapies since then-Vice President Biden and second Lady first visited the center in 2016. There are 30 clinical trials open at the cancer center including the Wisdom study, an effort to find the safest and most effective way to detect breast cancer.
