Police have named the 37-year-old victim
A man who died following an incident in Greenock has been named today by police as Lee Elliott, from the local area.All three were taken to hospital and Mr Elliott, 37, was pronounced dead a short time later, with a murder investigation launched.
He was held in police custody before appearing at Greenock Sheriff Court this afternoon. He made no plea to the charges and was remanded in custody. “I would like to reassure the local community that we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider community." “We will have a continued police presence in the area, and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage in the area, and door-to-door inquiries are also being carried out.
