Seán Fitzgerald, widely known as Fitzy from his time on Love Island, has returned to Ireland after voluntarily leaving the villa alongside his partner Lola.
As one of the original islanders this season, Fitzy entered on Day One and quickly formed a strong connection with Lola, becoming one of the few couples to stay together from the start. Although their journey was cut short, both decided to leave together, prioritizing their relationship over the competition.
Speaking to STELLAR, Fitzy described the dramatic shift back to normal life, noting the heightened attention and the challenges of simply going out, with venues offering special treatment and crowds recognizing him instantly. He expressed excitement about returning to casual dancing and socializing, but acknowledged that nights out would never be the same. Fitzy admitted that while he entered the villa hoping to find a girlfriend, he never expected to fall for someone so quickly.
He described Lola as not only stunning but also possessing a humour and personality that perfectly matched his own, making their bond feel natural and effortless. Despite the show's monetary prize, Fitzy said he completely forgot about the £50,000 while in the villa, emphasizing that the experience and finding genuine love were far more important.
He singled out Yas and Tommy as his preferred winners, seeing reflections of his own relationship with Lola in theirs, but also predicted Lorenzo and Julia might win due to their entertaining and charismatic presence. Looking ahead, Fitzy and Lola have exciting plans, including travel, meeting each other's families, and a potential move in together after the final.
Lola, who is from the UK, has already shown enthusiasm for Irish culture after watching The Young Offenders and hearing Fitzy's Irish music, and she is considering relocating to Ireland to be with him. Fitzy also recounted the surprise arrival of fellow Irish contestant Charleen Murphy in Casa Amor, revealing they had coincidentally met in the airport just before she entered the villa. He reflected on the Irish appeal, crediting the nation's charm and accent for winning over fans.
In a lighthearted moment, Fitzy shared that if he had participated in the Love Island Talent Show, he would have performed either a card magic trick or played the button accordion, both surprising skills he believes would have impressed the other islanders
