September is normally a very expensive month for people as families are sending their children back to school - here are the money changes that everyone needs to know

It is back to season season and the final month before the new budget is announced to provide cost of living measures.

For a child aged from 4 to 11 years, the payment will be €260 and for those aged 12 to 22 it will be €385.VAT increase The VAT rate for the tourism and hospitality sector was temporarily reduced from 13.5% to 9% back in November 2020. Interest rates on SuperSaver accounts will increase from 2% to 3% for the first 12 months. A rate of 2% will apply after that, up from 1%, on balances up to €30,000.
