Make the most of the good weather with a trip to the park
Summer has been a bit of a let down this year, if we’re being honest. It felt like the rain never stopped in July, and even August got off to a rubbish start.
It’s a great place to take little ones who are keen on nature too as the area is home to a wide variety of wildlife, especially water birds. The walk around the lake isn’t too long, either, so it’s ideal for little ones. In the heart of the park is a water fountain where kids can play during hot weather; it’s a huge tiled area where water jets up from the ground. At the far end of the park is the boating lake, accessed by crossing Darnton Road, where you can hire a pedalo or rowing boat. The park even has its own aviary too, which is worth checking out.
