The Ireland star knows what it takes to get the job done against Georgia.
While most 17-year-olds would have their heads in the books cramming for exams, Republic of Ireland's Abbie Larkin was gracing the International stage.
"I mean it was amazing to score your first international goal. Honestly, I still think about it to this day... obviously coming to play them again. It was amazing. It's a dream come true, isn't it?" The Dubliner secured a move to Glasgow City shortly after the World Cup and after spending a year in Scotland, the teenager is plying her trade in the Women's Super League with Crystal Palace.
"I think Glasgow was definitely a challenge, first time moving away from home, I knew it was going to be tough. I think, looking back on it now, it definitely helped me grow as a player and gave me a new perspective on how football is, not just in Ireland. It definitely helped me moving to Palace in growing and developing."
It's almost 15 months now since the World Cup, and the women's national team is in a much different place these days. Vera Pauw is long gone, and with Eileen Gleeson in charge, Ireland have been competitive against some of the best teams in the world during this year's European Championship qualifiers where they pushed England all the way at Carrow Road before beating France on a famous evening at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
