The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued an alert over batches of a popular dessert item sold in a number of retailers including SuperValu and Donnybrook Fair. It's feared they could be 'unsafe' for some people to eat.
A food safety warning has been issued for batches of a popular dessert sold in a number of retailers, including SuperValu, which may be unsafe for some people to eat.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland said certain batches of the tarts contain sodium metabisulphite which is not declared in the list of ingredients. Therefore, they could be unsafe for people who are allergic or intolerant to sulphur dioxide. The affected items are The Elizabeth Ann Dessert Collection The Mmmm Tart! Apple and Berry pack size: 450g, and The Elizabeth Ann Dessert Collection Apple Raspberry & Blueberry Tart; pack size 575g, with all best before dates up to and including June 5.
