The Pittsburgh Maulers, the only winless team in the USFL, announced on Friday morning that they had signed four players, including former Auburn center Xavier Dampeer.

Dampeer received a medical redshirt because of the injury and returned to start Auburn’s first four games of the 2016 season. But an ankle injury sidelined him, and when Dampeer was healthy enough to play again, Austin Golson had established himself at center. Other Auburn alumni in the USFL include New Jersey Generals offensive tackle Calvin Ashley and cornerback Christian Tutt, New Orleans Breakers tight end Sal Cannella and Tampa Bay Bandits wide receiver John Franklin III.Tutt will not play in the Generals’ game against the Maulers. New Jersey placed him on the inactive list for the contest because of knee and ankle injuries.
In the USFL’s other Week 4 games at Protective Stadium, the Panthers play the Philadelphia Stars at 9 p.m. Friday. FOX Sports 1 will televise the game. The Bandits-Birmingham Stallions contest will complete a Saturday doubleheader at 6 p.m. on FOX.
