Former stars of the long-running ITV sitcom Benidorm have announced their engagement on social media. Laila Zaidi and Adam Gillen first began dating after working together on the series from 2018.
The acting duo portrayed Liam and Cyd on Benidorm, with Adam's character changing careers in series five to leave the holiday resort and work at the salon with Kenneth Du Beke. He remained part of the show until the series came to an end in 2018, the Daily Record reports. Laila joined the show as Cyd, Rob Dawson's fiancée, in the last ever episode of the series. Announcing their engagement, Laila and Adam said they were holidaying in Croatia when the latter popped the question.Laila shared a picture of the pair flashing her huge diamond ring and wrote: "A whole week of being a diiiirty flirttttyyy thirty FIANCÉ !!!!!!!" Celebrities were quick to flock to the comments to congratulate them.
Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel commented: "Awwwww congratulations!!!" and actress Sophie Rundle added: "SO GORGEOUUUUUS!! Congratulations!!!" Fresh Meat star Greg McHugh wrote: "Congrats yous legends of love!!!!"
