Val Adedokun, a former Dundalk prospect, has secured a loan move to League Two club Cheltenham Town for the remainder of the season.

Former Dundalk prospect Val Adedokun has joined League Two side Cheltenham Town on loan until the end of the season. Just days after his spell with Hungarian outfit Diósgyőri VTK officially ended, the left-sided player has signed with his new club. Adedokun (21) could be in line for an appearance on Saturday when Cheltenham take on AFC Wimbledon. The Dubliner made one start and two substitute appearances in Hungary before an injury last month cut short his time there.

In total, he played 141 minutes across the three games. He moved from Dundalk to Brentford B in August 2021, and last season he captained the team, starting 33 times and scoring four goals. His exploits last term earned him the Brentford B Player of the Year award. Adedokun, who trained with Cheltenham on Tuesday morning, is not the only Irishman at the League Two side. The Robins signed right-back Darragh Power from Waterford in December, while Liam Kinsella, son of former Ireland international Mark Kinsella, is also there
