A former Houston elementary school teacher is set to be sentenced in a downtown federal courtroom Friday for possessing lewd images of children on his computer and thumb drive that he apparently accessed at least once through a Houston ISD IP address.
Robert Gasper Peri, a former Houston ISD teacher, is scheduled to be sentenced in Houston federal court Friday for downloading hundreds of lewd images of minors.
In practical terms, Jackson explained to the Senate committee, the sentencing law for people accessing lewd images and videos was crafted with U.S. mail in mind, where charges were based on how many times a person received the images in the mail. But images of sexual abuse and assault of children in Peri’s case and many other Justice Department prosecutions are shared via rapidfire downloads over the internet.
The person linked to the images was using the email address [email protected], went by the name Bob Pangloss and had accessed the materials through Yahoo, Comcast and an Houston ISD internet address.
