We discussed Nottingham Forest's controversial 3-2 defeat to Manchester United on the latest Garibaldi Red podcast with Lewis McGugan the main guest
Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis McGugan has questioned the point of VAR after seeing the Reds suffer defeat against Manchester United.
"Referees are human and make mistakes. There's the pace of play and the atmosphere. You have to make split second decisions from one angle. VAR was brought in where you have people in a studio with calm, no outside noise - you can slow it all down. "Refs are in the heat of the battle. There's a system in place now where they can look again and say I've got it wrong. Surely that's better than to have people in a studio with technology and time still making the wrong decisions."
"You also get some refs where you think fair play. So long as you can have a conversation with them it's fine. You get some that are rude and put themselves on a pedestal. It brings tension.
