Former Warminster Township police officer James Carey was working as a D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) officer and used his position to sexually assault five boys, Bucks County authorities said.
A former police officer who worked in several Pa. departments pleaded no contest to the sexual abuse of five teen boys in Bucks County, according to the district attorney’s office.
In Carey’s position as a D.A.R.E. officer, he ran a program for “troubled youth” at Warminster Township’s recreation center. “Nevertheless, he must be made to pay a severe price for his extraordinary violation of trust,” Weintraub said.
