One of SA's highest-profile former prisoners, Henry Keogh, welcomes a court ruling which could lead to a key report on his case being made public.
The Full Court of the SA Supreme Court today handed down a judgement supporting the release of a report compiled on Mr Keogh's case between 2003 and 2006 by then-solicitor-general Chris Kourakis. The court's decision means a final decision is likely to rest in the hands of the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal .
"I'm hopeful that this is going to be the watershed that's going to change the way in which criminal law is practiced here, not just in South Australia but ideally right across the nation," he said.Keogh was convicted over the death of Anna-Jane Cheney in 1994. SA Best MLC Frank Pangallo, who worked for Channel Seven's Today Tonight program which campaigned for Mr Keogh's conviction to be overturned, said he will be calling on Attorney-General Vickie Chapman to release the report immediately.
