RTE has seen many changes over the years, but the newsroom has been the start for a host of Ireland's most well-known broadcasters.
She was the co-anchor alongside Sharon Ní Bheoláin of RTÉ's flagship Nine O'Clock News and presented afternoon bulletins for RTÉ Radio 1.Anne is best known as a long-serving newsreader for RTÉ, who anchored the broadcaster's main evening television news programmes, during her 33 years of service. Doyle became one of two sole anchors of RTÉ's flagship Nine O'Clock News in 1997, alternating with Eileen Dunne. In 2000, she was elected to represent RTÉ staff on the 14th RTÉ Authority.
In May 1999 Lawlor left the current affairs department of RTÉ and joined RTÉ Lyric FM. He currently presents The Lyric Concert every weekday nights.In 1978, Murray responded to a newspaper advertisement seeking a continuity announcer for RTÉ. His application was successful and he began his presenting career on Hospital Requests on RTÉ Radio.
In September 1996, he was named as the co-presenter of the flagship early evening news programme, RTÉ News: Six One on RTÉ One. “I was ready. I'd done everything I wanted to do there, and Colm was ten years older than me, so I thought, why not spend time together?”
