SUTTON, Alaska - Former state lawmaker Vic Kohring was killed Tuesday night in a head-on collision on the Glenn Highway. Kohring was 64.of a vehicle collision near mile 53 of the highway just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Troopers say Kohring was driving a Toyota minivan when it crossed the center line and collided with a semitruck. Troopers did not immediately know why the Toyota crossed over.The Alaska State Troopers Bureau of Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. The Glenn Highway was closed in both directions for about two hours. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.from 1995 to 2007 and is a graduate of Alaska Pacific University , as well as Dimond High School in Anchorage.by a federal jury in 2007 of bribery, attempted extortion, and conspiracy for accepting financial benefits from Alaskan oil company VECO Corporation in return for voting in favor of the company’s interests in the Alaska legislature.
