Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Ruth Coppinger said: 'This is a sickening low in a recent spate of events that have been stirred up by people who are racist or connected to the far right.'
Former Socialist TD Ruth Coppinger has said she is"horrified" by the attack on a migrant camp in Ashtown in Dublin on Saturday.
She said that if journalists and photographers were not present at the time of the attack,"there could have been somebody injured or killed". "It's a global pandemic, it's preceded any migrants coming into the country en masse, and if there's any evidence that any of these men were linked well, then why hasn't it been brought to the gardaí?""Even the council is allowing them to happen, the gardaí know they're there," she said.
