Music lovers were left stunned after being forced to shell out around €400 for Liam and Noel Gallagher’s tour, despite standing tickets initially being advertised at €86.50 plus booking fees

The people who caused this maelstrom are Oasis fans.” He told The Anton Savage Show on Newstalk yesterday, there were only 160,000 tickets available with 700,000 people on the site at 8am on Saturday.

Mr Higgins said he understood people were disappointed but claimed it was not Ticketmaster’s fault. He added: “I’ve been out of the business for a while, but I would understand the right way to go about this is the stakeholders are paid what people pay for tickets. Nobody has to pay €400 for a ticket, I think they’re stupid to pay €400 for a ticket.”

“But more broadly speaking, I do think we need a strong reflection on this kind of runaway inflation on costs for concerts of these kinds with so many people looking forward to it. Former Lord Mayor of Dublin Christy Burke has demanded that Ticketmaster and MCD chiefs be called before the Dail over the pricing fiasco.
