The 'chalet-style building' is currently vacant and boarded up
says: “It is proposed to demolish the commercial units at 32-34 Waterside to provide an empty site for development to take place.”
Three two-bedroom, two-bathroom terraced homes would be built to replace it, alongside extra rooms for Moat Cottage. The proposal is phase two of development at the site, with the first phase involving an extension to Moat Cottage that was completed in March. A council assessment of the site described 32 Waterside as “a two-storey flat roof building, previously a commercial use but now vacant and boarded up”, and 34 as “a chalet-style building which runs the full depth of the site which is currently vacant and boarded up.”
