Wanted for a crime he didn't commit, a prison stint and nearly a decade on the run, the story of Dublin-based MMA star Shem Rock is something straight out of a Hollywood movie.
A man who was wanted by police for almost a decade and spent six months in prison before ultimately being found not guilty in a court of law will take on a former police officer in an MMA fight in front of 20,000 people.

It definitely wasn’t a plan of mine. “It also became public knowledge on the scene that I was a wanted criminal so the opportunities were a lot more scarce. Sponsors didn't want to run with me any more.
Those months spent isolated in Dublin came after going years without being able to see his family. Again, the Oktagon star believes these tough times helped him to become the man and the fighter that he is today. A trip to Belfast proved to be the 30-year-old's undoing as he was finally apprehended by the authorities in 2021.
