This firing comes after a string of firings and arrests of several Fort Worth officers earlier in the year.An officer was fired from the Fort Worth Police Department on Wednesday, months afterVictor Rucker, 50, was arrested while he was off duty by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office on June 2 on a family-violence assault charge. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.

Rucker’s arrest prompted an administrative investigation and he was “placed on restricted duty and stripped of all police powers,” Fort Worth Police said. Victor Rucker, a former Fort Worth police officer, was arrested on a domestic violence charge in June 2022. The internal investigation determined Rucker had violated multiple department policies and Chief Neil Noakes agreed with the determination and fired him.The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office declined to provide further details about the June arrest, citing the pending criminal case.
