Noakes said police determined Pierce had a gun under the driver’s seat of the vehicle but did not say why they believed that. Body-camera footage shows multiple officers pointing their weapons at the vehicle and shouting for the driver to show his hands. The footage shows the vehicle attempting to back off of the retaining wall before being blocked by a police vehicle.
Body-camera footage shows an officer breaking the vehicle’s back windshield with a baton as another yells, “Can’t see what he’s doing!”
