Police responded about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to the Hemphill Street exit on westbound I-20, where a car had crashed into a bridge pillar. One of the car’s occupants was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, while the other was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition, police said.
