This will be the third major update of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 Curiously
Fortnite will undergo maintenance today ahead of the 24.30 update - which will bring a new batch of Star Wars content ahead of meme day 'May the 4th'.
Following a week-long delay from the expected launch date, the update is set to go live later today as reported by the MEN. . Epic Games has confirmed on Twitter that the update will go live today at 8am. Matchmaking typically goes down 30 minutes prior to an update, so you'll need to finish up any games before then.
Downtime typically lasts around four hours so you'll be able to hop back in at 12pm BST / 7am EDT / 4am PDT. However, the Fortnite Update 24.20 the servers were back up well in advance of the four hours, so feel free to double check during this time.Thanks to some reliable leakers, we know that this year's version of the annual Fortnite x Star Wars crossover will be bringing back Lightsabers and Blasters. Force powers will also be introduced for this event.
Two skins with the codenames CirrusVine and PlotTwist are also set to be added with this update. It has not been confirmed who the former could be, but the later has been revealed to Anakin Skywalker. This makes sense considering Darth Vader is already in the game and – spoilers for The Empire Strikes Back – him being Luke's father has to be the most iconic plot twist of all time. Epic Games won't release the full patch notes until the downtime is in effect, however, from looking at the Fortnite Trello Board you can see some issues listed as 'fixed in next game update'.We'll know for sure what actually makes it into Fortnite Update 24.30 once the patch notes go live.
