Pendle, Blackpool, Burnley and Blackburn have the highest percentage of people in Lancashire with no qualifications
There is more than a 10% difference in the level of qualifications of people in different parts of Lancashire, according to census data.
The new figures published by the Office for National Statistics show the continuing divisions within different parts of the country when it comes to education. . Pendle has the highest percentage of people with no qualifications with 24.8% this is compared to Ribble Valley at the bottom of the scale with 13.2%. Changes to the questions posed in the 2021 census mean that this year’s results are not directly comparable with previous polls.However, the figures indicate that many more people in England and Wales are more highly educated than in previous census cycles.
On census day, 21 March 2021, there were 11.5 million schoolchildren and full-time students, up from 10.8 million 10 years earlier.
