Serial killer Stephen Port's crimes are central to new BBC drama, Four Lives, starring Stephen Merchant. Here's what happened after he was caught.
as serial killer Stephen Port frustratingly slipped through the police’s fingers multiple times.
He had previously been convicted of perverting the course of justice in the death of first victim, Anthony Walgate. Port had moved Walgate’s body outside his house before calling the police claiming to be a passer-by.Simple investigations showed that Port was the caller, and had also hired Walgate as an escort two days before his body was found.
After his arrest, eight other men came forward with their own allegations of Port, saying they hadn’t come forward before due to fear of being outed as gay, or out of shame for what happened.
