Four people were killed Monday evening when an airplane crashed in the El Cajon area of Southern California, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The victims were aboard a Learjet 35 business aircraft which departed from John Wayne Airport in Orange County and was headed to Gillespie Field in San Diego, FAA spokesman Rick Breitenfeldt told CNN on Tuesday. The Learjet went down just after 7 p.m, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.The National Transportation Safety Board, which is leading the investigation, has a team responding to the scene.
