All but one retailer has put prices up in this week's comparison of basics like bread and milk
For months now our bills have only been going one way and that's up. If there's one place we notice it more it's at the supermarket and our weekly price comparison has been keeping track of the cost of basics like milk and bread since March.
Four of the six supermarkets have this week hiked the price of butter again. We're not talking a couple of pence either. Only Lidl has kept its product at £1.72 and Morrisons Savers butter was already a rather pricey £1.95, but where Aldi leads Lidl can follow. It's Lidl that has the most price rises this week though. While also putting its mince up to £1.79, its teabags have gone from 99p to £1.09 and its chicken breasts have gone from £2.09 to £2.15.
