ADOT issued its weekend travel advisory citing numerous freeway closures for this weekend due to ongoing improvements in Phoenix.
highlighting a few key updates. Multiple closures will occur on Veterans Day weekend and Arizonans are advised to plan ahead for.
Closures will be in effect across the Valley mainly due to ongoing pavement projects, construction, or drainage system projects. Southbound Interstate 17 between Loop 101 and Greenway Road will be closed for ADOT's ongoing pavement improvement project.Southbound Interstate 17 on-ramps at Pinnacle Peak, Deer Valley roads, and Rose Garden Lane will also be closed.ADOT is advising drivers to allow extra time for travel.
Interstate 10 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions between Loop 202 and Riggs Road for pavement sealing.Interstate 10 on-and off-ramp closures between Chandler Boulevard and Riggs Road on Saturday .Closures can be expected from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday.ADOT advises allowing for extra travel time. Consider alternate routes to avoid Interstate 10 work zones.
Interstate 17 off-ramps at Loop 303 will be restricted with limited access to Sonoran Desert Drive; east of Interstate 17.Closures can be expected from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.ADOT advises using alternate routes including westbound State Route 74 to southbound Lake Pleasant Parkway to enter Loop 303 beyond the closure.
