Gardaí say they are still baffled by the mysterious disappearance of Conor and Sheila Dwyer, who vanished without a trace 33 years ago
Gardaí have issued an appeal for information in a bid to solve the 33-year mystery of a couple in their 60s from Co Cork who vanished without trace on April 30, 1991.
Tuesday marks the 33rd anniversary of the last time Conor and Sheila were seen in public and gardai are set to issue an appeal for help in solving the couple's disappearance during a special feature on the case as part of RTÉ’s CrimeCall at 9.35pm tonight. A local woman remembers seeing the couple on the steps of St Patrick’s Church following a funeral on 30 April 1991.
At the Dwyers’ house on Chapel Hill, gardaí found all of their personal belongings, including their clothes, passports and money. But friends and neighbours were unable to provide any information. Nobody had noticed anything unusual about the couple or their behaviour in the days leading up to their disappearance.
