Ben Needham was 21 months old when he disappeared from the Greek island of Kos in 1991 while staying with his grandparents.
The family of a boy who went missing in 1991 have been given fresh hope following an update about a body found in a German river. Ben Needham was 21 months old when he disappeared from the Greek island of Kos while staying with his grandparents.
According to the Mirror, DNA experts from Interpol have said they do not believe the remains of the boy were that of a German. Speaking about the development, Kerry said: “I’m pleased they are looking into it. Every possibility has to be investigated and ruled out. Our hope is that one day one piece of information will come forward which will uncover the truth."
Interpol DNA Database Manager Francois-Xavier Laurent said on Tuesday: "We have received 33 hits from the public." He added: "We can now assume that this boy was probably not German." The mum is still desperate for answers having researched child trafficking and describing the crime as "rife" at the time of Ben's disappearance. She claims that the family were told by a stranger that Ben "had been sold" but Greek Police did not investigate.
