The overall total of 35 sightings is up from 26 coyote sightings and six bobcat sightings reported between Nov. 21 to Dec. 21.
The most recent data displays four coyote reports and two bobcat reports with multiple animals in a single sighting. None appeared aggressive to another human or a person. A pack of three coyotes and a single bobcat in East Frisco were the most recent sightings reported Wednesday. In the city’s urban wildlife management plan, the Frisco Police Department recommended that the animals are left alone unless they are a nuisance or display warning signs that suggest they could become a danger.
If a potentially harmful animal, such as a coyote or bobcat, displays aggressive behavior, the city will respond with lethal removal — the most effective action for removal of carnivorous animals.
