Sorry, Mobile. A midtown favorite is closing its doors.
The operators of midtown Mobile restaurant Fuego have notified patrons that the venue is closing this weekend after 13 years, brought down by the COVID-19 pandemic and economic uncertainty.
There had been some warning over the last month. In a March 14 Facebook post, the restaurant’s management said that “we are not sure of our future during these trying economic times and the on-going pandemic. That message rallied supporters. A follow-up post on March 21 said that “We cannot begin to express our gratitude for the amazing week y’all gave us! The entire team is grateful for your patronage and support. It almost felt like pre-pandemic times and there are no words for how amazing that feels given the past two years. The restaurant was FULL of smiles, stories, laughter, and cheer.
