A huge contingent of Irish talent has travelled to LA for the awards ceremony which takes place this weekend.
The Banshees of Inisherin director Martin McDonagh has added to his growing Oscar CV with nods for best director and best original screenplay. The film is also among the bookmakers' favourites for best picture. They will all be hoping for the ‘luck of the Irish’ at the ceremony held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 12. It will be hosted by US talk show favourite Jimmy Kimmel.
The Oscars will air live on ABC in the US, while in Ireland Sky Cinema Oscars will host the ceremony.For those who don't fancy staying up to watch it live, RTE will be showing all the best moments from the ceremony the following day. Oscars 2023 airs at 9.30pm on Monday, March 13 on RTE 2.
