After over a week of speculation on whether Ireland will receive any snow, the national forecaster has confirmed the news, with counties expecting the white weather over two days
The national forecaster looked ahead to the weekend and also found that there will be unsettled conditions, with a chance of frost at night ongoing.
They continued: “Whilst the week will begin very mild, temperatures will decrease during the second half of the week as colder polar maritime air extends from the North Atlantic. Dry at first on Tuesday night, then rain will return from the southwest, turning heavy in places as it extends to all areas through the night. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees. Light to moderate southerly winds will increase fresh.
Showers from the west overnight Wednesday night will occasionally fall as sleet or snow. Lowest temperatures 1 or 2 degrees in mainly moderate southwest winds.
