A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support the grieving husband and newborn daughter of a woman who tragically died during childbirth in Galway, Ireland.

A fundraiser has been launched to help the heartbroken father of a newborn girl following the death of his beloved wife last week. Teresa Charlin-Foy tragically passed away at University Hospital Galway at the age of 38 while giving birth to her beautiful baby girl on December 13.

Teresa, who is originally from Spain, will be dearly missed by her devastated husband Stephen, her beloved newborn daughter Claudia Teresa, her mother, brother, grandmother, sister and her many friends and family in Galway and Spain. A GoFundMe has now been launched to help a grieving Stephen and their beautiful newborn baby girl ahead of Christmas. A post on GoFundMe read: “Stephen received the most devastating news on Friday, December 13, regarding the passing of his wife and the love of his life, Teresa. “Teresa was admitted to the hospital on Friday due to symptoms of pregnancy. Teresa passed away and gave birth to their beautiful daughter, Claudia, at University Hospital in Galway. Stephen and Teresa were eagerly anticipating the arrival of their new family member this Christmas, and they had prepared their home appropriately. “We are all devastated and merely wish to assist Stephen in covering the financial expenses associated with this tragic event. Teresa is originally from Spain and will be returning to her family.” A requiem mass was held for Teresa at St. Oliver Plunkett Church, Renmore in Galway on Wednesday before Teresa begins her journey to her home in Sanxenxo, Spain. Tributes have poured in far and wide for the “lovely and kind” Teresa following her sudden passing. One mourner wrote: “Deepest condolences to Stephen, baby Claudia, the Foy and Charlin families. Teresa was a wonderful person. May she rest in peace”
