A couple whose young son has a severe type of spina bifida are appealing for help to fund treatment which will hopefully mean he is able to walk.

The determined mum-to-be then underwent a procedure in Belgium to repair the lesion in his back, which involved him undergoing surgery while still in the womb. “However, he sat up unaided when he was five months, then began army crawling when he was 13 months before he started properly crawling at 18 months.
The device gives electrical impulses from the lower back to the legs and is designed to help children with spina bifida feel parts of their body they were unaware of before.
