Armagh GAA star Ethan Rafferty enjoyed a memorable weekend as he won the All-Ireland men's Intermediate Road Bowls title in Castletownkinneigh. His victory over Tommy O'Sullivan came a day after Armagh secured their place in the All-Ireland SFC final with a brilliant extra-time win over Kerry at Croke Park on Saturday.
He won a third successive Ulster title against Madden's Paul O'Reilly at Tassagh earlier this month and carried that form into the final. After he played his final shot, Rafferty proclaimed: "One down, one to go" and he'll be hoping it is the first in an All-Ireland double with the Orchard County bidding to win the Sam Maguire for the second time in their history.
