Joe Brolly and Des Cahill were among those to praise Jarlath Burns for his passionate speech after Sunday's Allianz Football League Division 1 final.
GAA President Burns was hailed by many after the game for the speech he made when presenting the trophy to Derry captain Conor Glass. He said: "Ladies and gentlemen, we have just witnessed some incredible athletes make an exhibition of our game over 90 minutes. You should be proud of every one of them.
"It is now an incredible honour for me to present the National League Allianz Division 1 trophy to your proud captain and a proud member of the Glen All-Ireland-winning club team - Conor Glass!"
