Gabrielle Union has given an update on a potential Bring It On sequel movie. Although Bring It On hit theatres over 20 years ago, it has remained a cult classic since its initial release in 2000. The teen comedy follows the rivalry between high school cheerleading captain Torrance Shipman’s squad the Toros, and their competition, the East Compton Clovers, led by Union’s character Isis.
Bring It On generated five direct-to-video movie sequels without the film’s original stars, a Broadway musical written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and an upcoming Bring It On slasher movie spinoff at SyFy. Dedicated fans of the franchise have been calling for a faithfully cast follow-up featuring the original characters for years. In an interview in 2020, Union teased the possibility, saying that a Bring It On sequel was “absolutely going to happen.
