“My understanding was that I had a flexible holiday and I would be able to cancel if necessary,” said Orla on the latest episode of RTE’s The Complaints Bureau

Orla Keegan was tasked with planning a girly getaway with her friends to mark a special birthday. The Galway woman chose the idyllic location of Sorrento in Italy for the dream holiday and after some research, chose what she believed to be a reputable company to help her with the group booking.

The new RTE show features three consumer journalists who endeavour to resolve a series of complaints on behalf of members of the public who have hit brick walls. An investigation by Conor into the LoveHolidays lengthy terms and conditions, found page 19 of the 41 page document did indeed read: “100% of the value of transfers is non-refundable from the point of booking”.

“You also can’t put in unfair terms so if you book and you feel like your rights are being breached you can challenge the company and eventually even take them to court,” he added.
