The troupe's engagements included performances at a Golden Years tea party in Rathcoole and a summer camp in Sligo
The Garda Band has cost taxpayers to the tune of €3 million since the beginning of last year, new figures have revealed.
However, they also played at events such as a Golden Years tea party in Rathcoole in August, and a summer camp in Sligo in July of last year. The band also spent four days facilitating a Transition Year work experience programme in April. The band spent three days in London last year ahead of a St. Patrick’s Day performance on March 13. It also travelled to Toronto, Canada for three days last March.
Two administrative support staff are also assigned to the troupe, which has its own premises in Phoenix Park.
