The man was unaware that a Garda Sergeant was standing behind him and had witnessed the incident
Gardaí have claimed that 'karma' came back to bite a man who allegedly 'racially abused' a worker in a petrol station in Kildare.
The Garda Sergeant intervened and soon discovered that the man's vehicle was not taxed or insured and that he had previously been disqualified from driving. The penalty for driving while disqualified is a fine of up to €5,000 or a possible prison sentence of up to six months in jail. "Last year, An Garda Síochána introduced a Hate Crime Learning Programme to be undertaken by Gardaí nationwide, and there are trained Diversity Officers in each Garda Division. We work hard to promote a society that treats one another with dignity and respect in a fair and safe environment for people to live and work free from discrimination.
