Garda injured after being struck by car at Dundrum Town Centre

Gardaí issue appeal after alleged member of crime group involved in incident where garda was injured yesterday in Dundrum

They had observed a blue Fiat Bravo hatchback that was allegedly connected with a previous theft in the area, and attempted to stop the car and detain the occupant. A garda spokesperson said that after receiving treatment the garda was discharged and his injuries are not life threatening.The blue Fiat was later recovered by gardaí at Kilcarrig Close in Tallaght.

Prior to this incident, two men in their late 40s were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a serious offence . They were due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court this morning.
