A rock is believed to have been flung from the M8 flyover outside of Cahir in Tipperary and hit a passing car undeath
Gardai have warned a motorist could be killed after a number of missiles were thrown at vehicles from bridges overlooking Irish motorways recently.
The driver, who was left shaken, had noticed a group of people on the bridge and was able to slow down before the incident.After the object was thrown they were able to safely pull into the hard shoulder and inspect the damage caused. "On Sunday evening a person driving on the M8 saw people on a bridge – these people then threw an item from the bridge which struck the windscreen causing damage.
In an interview with Tipp FM, he added: “It is a serious offence and this one is being fully investigated.”They also called on anyone with information about the perpetrators to get in touch.
