Jason Sherlock became the unexpected star of the New York City St Patrick's Day parade after being recognised by gardaí who were marching in it
There were plenty of star attractions in the New York St Patrick's Day parade but none caused a stir quite as big as a man behind the barrier viewing the festivities.
A huge contingent of gardaí were marching in the parade but while they moved down the street in their finery, they couldn't help but break from the formalities to meet a true GAA hero.A number of gardaí stopped to chat Jayo - and even take a photo- but one group got so excited they hoisted him over the barrier so he could join their march in the parade.
