Gardai investigating following discovery of body parts in bag in North Dublin estate

Gardai have launched an investigation following the discovery of body parts in a bag in North Dublin on Monday night.It is also understood two arms and a leg were found, but the torso is yet to be located.

Gardai have not yet identified the victim however it's understood they are checking the list of missing persons. The scene of the discovery, which was made in Moatview Gardens, was sealed off overnight as officers examined the scene.Last night a source told Dublin Live the find was "very sinister". A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Coolock have commenced an investigation following the discovery of human body parts in Dublin." "The Dublin City Coroner has been notified and the services of the State Pathologist have been requested.
