A developing story this afternoon
The Mirror has now established that the man who was killed in the road smash outside Castleblayney matches a rough description given to gardai of the suspect who was disturbed at the scene of the attack in which another man's body was found. The incidents happened a matter of minutes apart.
Garda Technical Bureau experts from Dublin have now arrived at the scene of the death of the man at the house.We have also learned that there were indications that the man, who is middle aged, died a violent death. A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a fatal road traffic collision at the Ballynacarry Bridge on the N53 - Castleblayney to Dundalk Road, Co Monaghan, this morning Thursday, 1st December 2022."The pedestrian has been pronounced deceased and his body remains at the scene."The road is currently closed for a technical examination by forensic collision investigators.
