Sources say gardaí believe the victim, named locally as Jeffrey Jackson, was stabbed to death after he was socialising with an associate in Kilcock – and a row erupted between them.The stabbing took place in an apartment in the town at around 3pm on Thursday.
He was stabbed during the attack in the apartment on School Street in the town. He died at the scene and his body was still in the apartment.A man who is known to Mr Jackson and also from Kildare was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.Gardaí said a postmortem would be carried out on Mr Jackson’s remains at Naas General Hospital in Kildare on Friday.
