Quite a haul
Gardaí from the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau assisted by Gardaí from Navan carried out a search of a house on the Slane Road in Navan on Monday morning where they seized products used to carry out ATM scams.
Gardaí seized equipment for ATM skimming including a fake ATM front, hard drives, receiving devices, soldering equipment, laptops, about 500 blank cards to be used for storing data copied at ATMs, sat navs, pin hold cameras, skimming devices and various ATM skimming paraphernalia. The fake ATM front is placed over the front of a regular ATM. When a person then inserts their card, it skims the data from the card and the person's pin is captured using a concealed camera.The two men are both Romanian nationals in their late 40s and late 20s, and were arrested at the scene.
